We are not sure why they needed the Chit, just that they did so we got one, just to be safe. We're not married, so I don't have an id & he has to be there to check me in. It was quite the hassle and still has not been approved. It's the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites, so it is separate (& cheaper!) than the Navy Lodge, but also on base. I chose to stay there because it's about a 1/4 mile walk from his barracks. So it will be convenient at nighttime when he has to walk back cause it's so close.

Either the phase cards or it could depend on each school. Meridian was pretty tough on them!

i wasn't married either. i was just a g/f and then a fiance. could it be because of the phase cards? hmmm, i find something out new everyday :)

I think it also made a difference that we weren't married at the time. It's very frustrating just being a fiancee or gf when dealing with the Navy!

I think you need a chit if it is the Navy Lodge (they also called it the CBQ's). Another reason he needed a chit was so that I could be his liberty buddy so we wouldn't get stuck with a third wheel.
