Good morning. My son is Graduating from A-school today at Great Lakes. He has asked to go to either Guam or Hawaii after leaving Great Lakes. I wish I could be there for him today. :( :( He has put in for leave to go to a wedding in Minnesota. So hopefully we will meet him there next week.

Good morning all! My son is finishing SCC school and will be on ho;d for A school for a few months before going into school. Then he will finally be done and moving on from the GL base. Yea! My son can't wait to get out of there and I hear it gets better after A school!

Hey Ladies....my husband graduated July 17...and now he's on hold for A school and on base most of the time. Is anyone else newly alone over here and in need of support?

Good morning everyone!
I just joined this group! My son is in Great Lakes currently in ATT school going to be out of A school sometime next year....God willing! He is studying to be an FC he is at a rating of E2 at this point. I live in California so he is very far from home. :( I am adjsuting to him being gone, but miss him very much.

I haven't gotten the grad packet yet...he said he sent it and I'm getting nervous...it's less than a month away now.

I would have your bf ask his command. Because they can tell him exactly when he gets phase II. When my husband was in school he had to go through a certain amount of time in A school before he got phase II. I'm not sure if all schools are the same but he really just needs to ask his command. Because if he is still phase I, you probably won't want to come because you won't see much of him. Good luck!

Im new to this group. My bf is in A school in GL as well. His actual A school doesnt start I think until the 26th but hes on hold and is now on the "regular" side of the base, meaning "across the street"
Hes in PHASE I and I was wondering when PHASE II would come. I know you have to pass a test in order to advance.
Also, I am spending my summer in Great Lakes and plan on visiting him on the base until he has off base liberty. Any advice on that?

Thank you Ellen! He is staying at GL so I got myself worked up over nothing, really. He called this afternoon so I was able to ask him personally. So good to hear his voice. I appreciate your help.
