Kathy B, that was truly incompetent. Scott got a new transmission while home and then drove back to NY. Didn't get across Ohio before he was having problems. He had to have another transmission put in that car. That was a terrible expense. So glad the girls realized they should stop and not drive until they killed the car.

The girls should be on their way soon. Easy fix - oil pan plug fell out. The oil change place that didn't put it in tight on Monday is going to be getting the bill for last night's festivities!

Kathy B, prayers for safe travels for both your daughters. So glad your sailor will be home soon for a visit.
Tysmom, when Scott was out to sea, I tried to send one short email a week to let him know how we all were. Nothing heavy because they can't deal with it out there anyway. I heard you should put your sailor's last name and the date of your email in the subject line. That way if they are catching up they'll know what order you wrote them.
NEWS: my daughter had an ultrasound this week and they saw the heartbeat so I now have permission to share that Tina is pregnant. They've been married 17 years and I had resigned myself to no grandchildren, but I'm so happy they changed their minds. Baby is due in mid-December. We have an unmarried son (still hoping he finds a girl because he does want kids). We do claim our sailor's wife's son as a grandchild since they married earlier this year. So I can finally say I'm a grandma and have hopes of more.

Kathy, I bet you are just beside yourself with excitement about your daughter coming home!  Prayers for the other daughter to be safe and a easy fix for the car.  Keep us informed.

Adele - congrats on a successful wedding!

Marianne - love the pic! I love even more that she was ambushed by a shutterbug! LOL

DD will be home the first of the month!!! Can't wait to see her. In the mean time, her little sis is stranded in St. Louis with a broken car... Prayers for a quick fix and safety coming the rest of the way home plz!

So much for running silent. I got an email today. Mainly saying he is ok and hows the family. He is on a fast attack. Will run silent again real soon. I think he thought he would not be in contact for a long time. And I know a wife who's husband ran silent for 7-8 weeks and that was after he came back from deployment and was kinda redeployed. She was not sure when she would hear from him. So I thought the same thing.

Marianne, that's great that there's a FB page just for her boat to make it easier to look for pics of her and keep up with what's going on. Someone has to keep it up to date so there must be a good administrator for the page.

tysmom, I've never made cards so the project you're planning sounds like it will be fun. Is your sailor on a Boomer? Scott is fast attack and I actually heard from him every few weeks when they were out.
