Our son just graduated on Nov 17, and he said it was 7 months from beginning of dive prep till the end of dive school. He was in dive school for 4 months.

Hey ladies..quick question...my hubby is getting classed up for dive prep in Great Lakes on December 03...I was just wondering how long dive school in Panama City will be? At first I heard it was 5 months but now I am hearing 7 weeks?!?!?! My husband has also heard both and nobody can seem to give him a definite answer..thanks!

Hi all, haven't been following very closely. Congrats to all the graduates. My son is in the newest class at panama city now. Tentative graduation date is April 1. Is there a ceremony for family or is it just for the sailors? I'm so depressed that I can't make it over there for Thanksgiving but have to work and take care of my other kids too.

Redd, welcome aboard. My name is Gerry and I was away for a while...
Had problems with this site, but all well now.

Dan is a diver with Aaron, Joyce's son, and when we found out what date our PIR was, Dee -- a wonderful Navy Mom -- started a board called PIR + our sailors graduation date. then the wives, moms, GF can hop on there and give each other information of when they got their letters and fun stuff like that.

When Dan was in BC, that board is what saved my sanity.

Hey Redd, when my son was in BC (his in dive school now and graduates 12/18) all of the divers in the same PIR date did PT together in the morning and then joined their division for the rest of training. Then after they graduated from BC the(the future divers) went through dive prep together. Hope this gives you a little more insight. Joyce
