If any of you do simple quilting there is a website called marinecomfortquilts.com that sews quilts for the families of soldiers who have passed away in Iraq and Afghanistan. I sewed for them for a while but had to stop. They are always looking for people to make squares and then sew quilts together. Now that we have sailors we can make squares and have your sailor sign them. They are beautiful when finished.

Go for it with the sewing! I taught myself at age 22 and I am still sewing away at 46.. LOL. I've made drapes, recovered the couches, made most of my dd's clothing till she was 8 or 9, made doll clothes, quilts, etc. It is a dying art. It is great to see someone young picking it up!

One word of advice... don't use Walmart fabric or cheap thread. There is nothing more heartbreaking than putting in 10 hours on a project and having it fall apart in the washer on the first run because the cheap thread or fabric ripped

kendrasue:I am attempting to make some pajamas for our son! And my mom is helping make him an original sailor suit(dress blues) I have never sewn before but my sister and mom are great at it! I am hoping to learn and take it(skill) with me when we get orders to wherever!

Well I got my sons room cleaned. I looks great. I haven't seen the carpet in ages. LOL! Except now I laid the suitcases out for our trip.

Already scrubbed the bathtub, swept/mopped the kitchen and got laundry done! Monkey is eating lunch then naptime! LOL Phew...when he goes down, it's time to get the patterns out to start cutting!!

I am keeping myself busy and upbeat. One of the things I have done is my page it is all done up for the holidays. I am going to change my page photo everyday just to have some fun but, I will also have on Sunday and Christmas, the Advent Wreath. On Christmas Eve I will have a nativity photo. Yesterday, I found each photo and I dated them so I know which one for each day. OK so I am a computer geek and put too much time and energy on this but, it keeps me busy and happy.. It is hard to be sad when you look at my page..God Bless All and just hang in there Evelyn
