OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I have moved three times since my Sailor graduated somewhere in one of those moves I think I lost her graduation pictures! Does anyone know if we can still reorder those?

Comment by D'sMomMary on April 9, 2013 at 10:51am

Her last name is Kathy, and she is on facebook here-

Mary,

Do you have any clue who might be the person to get ahold of that could make a DVD for me?

Thx!

Comment by BTsmom on April 6, 2013 at 11:04am

We got the Keel yesterday! A little disappointed because it was only the division and the brother division of the sailor. Couldn't get the chance to see everyone's Sailor. :(

Comment by D'sMomMary on April 4, 2013 at 12:49pm

The facebook group for our PIR date has been wrestling with this problem too. I think what they settled on is, someone smart who knows how to copy DVDs is making copies for the moms who missed out.  I haven't been wanting to ask for one so I lost track of the discussion, but it certainly sounded plausible. Monica, I think things like that are why longtime military families are a tougher breed!

Comment by zacharys_mom on April 4, 2013 at 9:53am
I have my copy. What did they suggest you do?
Comment by Monica13063 on April 4, 2013 at 7:21am
Mary, I was hoping to get one, and at the time, I called and she told me that they had copies so just send in my order form. I did but it came back to me with a sold out notice. I wish they would have just taken my order over the phone :( nothing like utilizing modern technology! I was hoping someone who had a copy could let me know.
Comment by BTsmom on April 3, 2013 at 9:52am

We still haven't received The Keel she ordered. We have moved but have a forwarding address. Anyone know about that?

Comment by D'sMomMary on April 2, 2013 at 9:40am

Hi Monica, they ran out of them. It had been my understanding that they would be available for some time afterwards so I was in no hurry to order mine, unfortunately :(

Hello all! Does anyone know of any available copies of the PIR DVD?
