While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

It's been awhile since we have talked! My son graduated MM Nuke A School on Friday, April 4th, yippee. He is now not scheduled to start Power school till June. He will be coming home for about a week and we will be visiting him for a long weekend. Can't wait to visit his Navy base! I hope you and your whole family are doing well :)

My daughter graduated Corpsman school in early March and got her first request for duty station and is currently in Newport, RI working at the Medical facility there. Hope everyone is doing well!

That is good to know! Now onto the adventure of Pensacola A school for your new Sailor and you! Don't forget to join the "Sailors in Pensacola A school...Corry Station too" group. That's the one I was a part of when my Sailor daughter was there for IT training. Lots of help over there~~

PIR was great. We were able to see our son before the ceremony because of the honor recruit. nice surprise!! We did not make it to Sarges, but everyone was so helpfull. The Marriott courtyard was great. Very helpfull. He wanted pizza went to Giordano it was good. He left at 12am for the airport . He was able to call us , we told what time we would be arriving and then he was able to come out and get his phone and ipad . It worked out well We had a 16hour drive home.. The USO was very helpfull to him. @midway the food court and the uso are after Security. but he were able to go back in forth as long as they had the paperwork. It was easier the all of us (6) than getting a pass and going to secruity. I would of brought a snack for him there are several fast food places just before you enter the airport. It was great for him to have his phone. He did not leave until 6:30pm the to georgia then texas. Thanks for you help again
