DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son is ship 09, div 13 :) I got his PIR papers today with his note. It was so nice to hear from him..especially since I never got the "call" the night he arrived in BC.

Welcome NukeMom! I sent you a friend request! Once you accept lets exchange kid info so our kids can look for each other! I tried to find your page, but there are a number of users with the NukeMom user name so I wasn't sure which one was you!
Anyone here from KY?
Yes, my daughter Sierra. I just go t on this list! Maybe will see you folks at the graduation ceremony in Decmeber. No one in my family has ever been military, so this is all new to me.

Hey Shasta! I also don't have anyone military in my family. I am still shocked that my son chose this, but I am so proud! I will add you as my friend and you can accept. Have a great day!
Thanks for the reply! My family was more shocked than I was. They are coming around to acceptance, but I got lots of calls and emails expressing a lot of concern. I know my daughter will be fine, though it's not going to be easy! I tried to get her to really think about this before she joined, but afterwards I just told her to make the most of it, and to take advantage of the opportunities. She had tried college and didn't like it, so hopefully this will be the right path for her. :-)
Hi Shasta! Welcome to our little Ship 09 Div 013 discussion! I sent you a friend request so that we could exchange kid information! No last names allowed on N4M but we can private message last name information between friends. They only know each other by last names at boot camp and I'd love for our girls to be able to seek each other out!
yes, this is my granddaughter's ship and div. she will go to os school. wonder when that will start? granny713
