- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- listen/browse navy parent/info boards for info to know at least a little of what to expect
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

I am currently a RN working perdiem in local hospital. I am also finally finishing up my BSN. I am going to also complete my school nurse certification. Probably going to look towards middle school or high school. How do you like it compared to Hospital nursing?
What rating is your son? How has the Navy been to him?

Eileen (USS Albany) said… I enjoyed Camp Nursing. If you are a Middle School nurse,you will be very comfortable with this job. It ranges from homesick kids to anaphylactic shock...you never know what the day will bring. It's very rewarding, but not in a monetary sense. I did it for many summers when my kids were at camp also.
So how long has your son been at Groton?
