Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Thinking about joining
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To pray every day for the Navy and the officers and the Secretary of the Navy and to read the Bible every day and a devotional book every day.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

You are very welcome Jean. Our hearts go out to all of those families who have been hard hit by this terrible tragedy at Fort Hood. They certainly are in our prayers day and night.

Hi Jean. I would say my son does not feel he has "lost time" by serving on subs, but was told recently that had he been on a surface or shore duty billet, he would probably been promoted to chief by now. But I think it is safe to say he would not trade his sub experiences for anything(well, most of it, anyway). It was a hard decision for him to drop his sub qual, but he does want to finish his career in the Navy. Best of luck to your son, and if I can help with any concerns, I'd be more than willing to try.

Thank you, Jean. My son has been in HI since Oct. 07. He just recently became certified for scuba diving so now he has a hobby he won't be able to keep if he comes back to OK!!!

I live just outside of downtown near Beach & Belknap. I would love to help you out with anything regarding the table deal. My son was on a sub now a recruiter in Tulsa so if you need like pens, maybe some Teddy Bears l can ask to see if he can send us some. If you need anything or if you are coming to town let me know so we can get together....my treat for a Starbucks! :)
