Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by UFQ202- Ship 12, Div 231 on July 8, 2011 at 11:45pm: Your son got the Pistol Marksmanship Medal. Can't remember what you have to score to get it. Depending on how well he shot he could also get to wear a S on it for Sharpshooter or an E for expert. Congrats!

howarki- I do make ribbons for anyone who would like to order them. They are a great way to show support for your Sailor, a really good way to recognize other members of N4M's especially at the meet and greet, waiting in line at PIR and even in the mall and airport. It was so cool when my daughter had PIR because I saw everyone wearing the ribbons I made and I could walk up to them and say Hi I am Lala from Navy for Moms. I wish I could go to every PIR and meet all my new friends :-) The ribbons also make a great keepsake for framing or a scrapbook. Comment by nursememrie on July 8, 2011 at 8:13pm: I finally got Sunday's (end of hell week) letter today, thank goodness. I'd been anxious to hear from him "on the other side" of it. He is relieved it's over...passed everything. He also says he got a sharpshooter ribbon when they did live firing of firearms. Any veterans out there that can clue me in as to what that really means? I could tell he was quite proud. :-)
