Hi, so happy to meet you,. This is all new to me. Christy has just finished basic training in Great Lakes Il. She is a Gunners Mate and will be going to school there until June or July. She is my youngest, and just turned 18 in boot camp. She was raised all he life in Sunny Florida and has never seen snow. This will be a great challange for her. I didn't think it would be so hard to be so far away from her. But she says she really loves it. She says she made the right choice. I congradulate your daughter on her achievement, and know you must be a very proud mom. Please keep in touchOne of my biggest regrets is NOT visiting a girlfriend when her and her husband were stationed there for several years and all I had to do was pay air fare back in the days when it was still affordable for the average American (read: the late 80's/early 90's. lol Oh well, maybe one day.... Thanksgiving was very nice and I enjoyed having PJ here with us. Her and her younger brother are a hoot to see them relate to one another and I think she is just as shocked as I am that he is so grown up at 17. We are both excited about his graduation next year. BTW, how is your son doing? Is he still in high school?
Talk to you soon, Sherry
Thanks for the welcome! My son, Tyler, is also an IT (2SW) he is on the USS John C. Stennis, stationed in Bremerton, WA. He recently re-enlisted and is putting in his package to be IT support for the SEALS. The pictures of Ashly are wonderful, what a beautiful girl. Once I get my computer at home working again, I will be posting some pics of my sailor, too. So, what part of PA are you from? I live in Montoursville, my hometown, located in central PA, near Williamsport. Hope to hear back from you...Lisa
I see that your daughter was promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class! Bravo Zulu to her! You must be a very proud mom right now!
She will be entering The Nuke program after boot. PS the pic is of her not me! She's way prettier.
