Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of February (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!

We are an extension of the group DEPPERS....in but not yet- see the link above.

If you haven't been there, go there now....There is a ton of information that you will need and are probably dying for....like Boot Camp videos! :)

So if you have general information that will be helpful for all new Moms, leave it in the DEPPER group, but if you have Feb ship out, or other, issues, need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in February, ...then this is the place to be. :-)

Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About a week after they arrive at BC, you will receive a form letter, with their Ship# and DIV # (address) on it. Check it against the ones here: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp Then, watch for your PIR (Pass in Review-i,e, Graduation) date to be posted here: http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/upcoming_grads.asp

That IS the official date for your Recruit's Training Group to PIR, HOWEVER things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets. Wait until it's posted to do so, and don't worry, you will still have plenty of time to get your traveling ducks in a row! =) Check here for reviews and info re: hotels, PIR, travel etc: http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/categories/pirpass-in-review/listForCategory

Next stop, Boot Camp Moms Group:http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms
That is where and when permanent Groups for your PIR date and Divisions will, or should, be formed.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)

Click on the $50,000 button then use the scroll down box and click current leaders. You will have to scroll to the bottom of the page and click show more a couple times. When I voted this morning it was 39. I hope this helps.

I couldn't locate the adopt a sailor program. Did you say it was #40?

Just wanted to pass this on to all of you. Molly Gisi is the mother of a sailor and began Molly's Adopt a Sailor. This is an all volunteer group that gathers items and sends them to soldiers and sailors overseas. They select 1 group each month then have a packing day in various places around the country then send the packages of love off to the chosen group. Pepsi is giving away money each month to various causes. Molly's group has been in the running for the $50,000 grant for 2 months now but can't seem to get in the top 10! This money would go to defray the mailing costs of these packages. You can go to www.refresheverything.com and vote everyday for your favorite cause. Hopefully that will be Molly's Adopt A Sailor. When you get to that site, click on the $50,000 button, then scroll through the list to find Molly's Adopt a Sailor. Currently they are 40. Once you click on the vote button you will have to sign in or register, then select the cause you are interested and vote. You do have 10 votes a day but can only cast 1 vote for a particular cause. Please help Molly reach the top 10 in the month of July. Vote everyday. It could be your son or daughter who will benefit from this program someday.

Hello everyone :)...Some of you know me and some dont but HELLO to all anyway :)... I have been an absent creator and I wanted to apologize for that. I began college and wow it is hard! I couldnt manage N4M's and my school work at the same time :(...I want to say thank you to those that stepped up and helped by being here and answering questions. I have now completed my first 8 weeks and I am attempting to add N4M's back in to my schedule so I can update information. If there is someone that is not assistant admin but has been working in that capacity while I have been gone email me and I will promote you. I am not here to take over by no means LOL. I have 12 of these leavin' in groups and I cannot do all that but if something needs to be added or something needs to be fixed or someone has questions I will be here. All you have to do is send me a message and I will work on what ever you need :). I will pop in every now and again to say hello but other than that this is your group :).

Have a great day :)

sarayu - Did your son have to go to RCU for his injury? My daughter, Sarah has been in there about 5 days. She dislocated her knee in PT. She feels fine now but they are keeping her there. She down and all emotional to be pulled from her div. and grad. Kim

Susan x2 - what is your son's name. My son, Jim, is on ship 10 division 163 and left at the same time as your son. I just received a long honest letter from Jim yesterday - my heart went out to him. He sprained his ankle and continued on until he ended up tearing two tendons before he finally mentioned it. He also said that night time is the loneliness time. My heart and prayers keep going out to him - and he appreciates all the letters. Han gin there - please keep those letters coming!!

..just stopped in to see if we have any Ohio N4M members that may be interested in joining the Ohio group. If so, we may have an event near you. If not, you will find a great group of N4M members that may want you company in your area. : ) ~ kk

MuttJeff, I feel your heartache. My son is in Ship10 Div 163 and he arrived 2/23. I have not received any mail, although I am still hopeful that I will get a letter today. This is my second round with BC, but it is so difficult this time since Adam is my youngest child and was the last to leave home. I hope that you will receive mail today, I will keep you in my thoughts. (( )) Hugs to you, Susan

Hold on Muttjeff. It's coming. Some mom's got two letters and 45 minute phonecalls on the same day!! I'll be praying that you hear from her tomorrow. Hope you can get some sleep. Our poor mommas' hearts need to be strong, don't they?
