Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of May (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!

We are an extension of the group DEPPERS....in but not yet- see the link above.

If you haven't been there, go there now....There is a ton of information that you will need and are probably dying for....like Boot Camp videos! :)

So if you have general information that will be helpful for all new Moms, leave it in the DEPPER group, but if you have May ship out, or other, issues, need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in May, ...then this is the place to be. :-)

Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About a week after they arrive at BC, you will receive a form letter, with their Ship# and DIV # (address) on it. Check it against the ones here: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp Then, watch for your PIR (Pass in Review-i,e, Graduation) date to be posted here: http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/upcoming_grads.asp

That IS the official date for your Recruit's Training Group to PIR, HOWEVER things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets. Wait until it's posted to do so, and don't worry, you will still have plenty of time to get your traveling ducks in a row! =) Check here for reviews and info re: hotels, PIR, travel etc: http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/categories/pirpass-in-review/listForCategory

Next stop, Boot Camp Moms Group:http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms
That is where and when permanent Groups for your PIR date and Divisions will, or should, be formed.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)

So if you have information that will be helpful for all, leave it in the DEPPER group but if you have issues, information, or just need to talk to someone that is going where you are...This is the place to be.

Hi Michelle, I was promoted to Admin of this group because I was the first to admit I was had a Depper leaving in May :), way back when. He is currently in bootcamp, PIR is 7/23 (can't wait!). This group hasn't had much in the way of conversation because we have all moved on to the bootcamp groups for our PIR. To be honest, I kind of lost track of it as I was obsessing about bootcamp the last 5 weeks since my son left.

Hello everyone :)...Some of you know me and some dont but HELLO to all anyway :)... I have been an absent creator and I wanted to apologize for that. I began college and wow it is hard! I couldnt manage N4M's and my school work at the same time :(...I want to say thank you to those that stepped up and helped by being here and answering questions. I have now completed my first 8 weeks and I am attempting to add N4M's back in to my schedule so I can update information. If there is someone that is not assistant admin but has been working in that capacity while I have been gone email me and I will promote you. I am not here to take over by no means LOL. I have 12 of these leavin' in groups and I cannot do all that but if something needs to be added or something needs to be fixed or someone has questions I will be here. All you have to do is send me a message and I will work on what ever you need :). I will pop in every now and again to say hello but other than that this is your group :).

Have a great day :)
Michelle

PingPongPomino: Welcome! When you get the form letter (probably in about 2 weeks), his PIR date will be on there (Pass in Review Graduation Date). That is the group you should join because the moms/wives on there will all have recruits in the same ship with your son. You will get the most info on there, but stay on this site too because it is very helpful. Just go to "groups" and plug in your PIR date in the search box....if someone has started a group for that PIR date, it will come up and you can join it. Otherwise, maybe you would like to start one! Good luck to your son!

Hello, looking for others in my son's group. He left for Great Lakes on May 26. Today, his recruiter just posted his contact info on our son's Facebook wall. It is:
Ship 10 Div 250. Anyone else out there? And, what is the best way to find others either in, or close by, your son or daughter's division? I am having trouble navigating the site!!

Thanks you all for sharing, I have come to the conclusion, my son may have been nervous and decided to send everything home. LOL Well better for him not to get in trouble for keeping something, if he wasn't sure. Hoping to meet some of you 07/23. haven't received my letter yet, but counting on this date since he is Div# 245.

Proud Mom: I know that my son's Navy office was closed yesterday for a long Memorial day weekend, so maybe the recruiter's office was closed too. Should be back on Tues. Hope you get an address soon. Won't your son be happy to get 8 letters at one time!

I got my son's box yesterday (5/28). What a bittersweet experience! He sent all his clothes back, even his socks! :) I can't wait to get the form letter. I have eight letters here waiting to send. I tried to contact his recruiter but no answer at the office yesterday.
