Hi all - I can't believe how long it's been sense we were all in this room chatting and wondering if our kids would make it through boot camp. I would love to know where everyone is located - well kinda located given the rules. My son is on the east coast which is wonderful for us. He can come home at times (when he has money). He's been deployed twice already, which wasn't always easy being 21, be he adjusted well. I can't thank the Navy enough for the Man he's become. We've watched 3 boys in our family come home save this year from deployment and we feel very blessed. I hope you are all doing well and your children are as well.

momofSR - I am hoping that everything works out for you all...what a thing to have to go through!

Thanks Chocolatelablover. I agree. Its sad that the kids will be in trouble but they did break& enter & burglar my home. They endangered their friends life as well. Our boys basketball team is playing the Chardon team tonight (where they had the school shooting) we have been playing sports against those kids for 15 years or so. Its a sad time around here. When small communities interact you get to know a lot of people from those towns. It seems like some kids who cause problems always take it out on others. I'm glad my house wasn't shot up but its sad when kids r hurting to bring problems to other kids. I'm not dropping my charges though no matter how many times they beg or threaten.
People do need to be accountable for their actions. This group of kids have had many 2nd chances.

momofSR03/071 I am so sorry to hear of what happened while you are away and I am happy that you are filing charges. Some of our problems in society today stem from the lack of holding people accountable & responsible for their actions. You did not force them to destroy/desicrate your home & they need to be held accountable for their actions.  I refer sarcastically to the words accountable & responsible quiet frequently as bad words such as the four letter word beginning with f. Heaven forbid we hold people accountable or responsible. Kind of like famous people who overdose and then everyone looks for a scapegoat in the Dr's who prescribe the meds that they (the Dr's) believe the person to need. Did they force that person to take the drugs outside of their prescribed dosage? Off my soapbox...Hope you can move on from this and that there is a speedy end to it.

Glad to hear everything is cleaned up and that you are holding the people who did this accountable.

Everyone is good!! Its nice being able to text & talk to our son!! Everything is cleaned up at home. Our pets seem ok.
It just sucks that it happened. We are pressing charges against the group of people that seem to think they can just go and do what they want.

I've been thinking about you and your family sense you've returned home. I hope you're doing ok or as well as expected. You have so much courage to go home and face what you have had to face. In the shadows of all of this I hope you & your animals are doing ok. We are all thinking of you.

Graduation was beautiful!! We spent the weekend with our sailor. When we went into chicago people on the streets went out of their way to shakes my sons hand and thank him for serving. Gosh it made me cry each time. One guy gave him a patch that had 05-1-11 with geronomo on it. It showed the twin towers, the pa field and the pentagon. That made everyone cry.
Sadly as we were at graduation we received a phone call from our local police. While we were away people broke into our house and had a party. One girl almost died & was hospitalized. The ate. They cooked. They drank. They played pool. They took handfuls of pills, smoked pot. They left our windows open. Food was left out. Drugs were left here. Basically disrespected everything our household stood for. Shame on them. I had to deal with multiple calls from the police & relatives through out the weekend. I also wouldn't allow anyone to tell our sailor. I didn't want anything to shadow his weekend. I still do not want him to know his household was disrespected in any way.
I shouted to the world we were going to be gone for the weekend. Thursday night was when they did everything. we live in a small town where there isn't a lot of crime. Today I met with the police. The police r running 3 different charges against the people that stem from almost letting someone die without calling for help. They never did call 911. They dropped the girl off at an ER. She was seizing and bleeding. People actually prevented an ambulance from being called because they didn't want to get in trouble for being at our house. They asked us to press charges. There are 4 different charges they said we needed to do. Sad. We r consulting an attorney then really have no choice. Some of the parents of kids that were here have asked us not to press any criminal charges. I directed them to my face book posting which reads.....
I have never felt so disrespected in my whole life. Yesterday we were honoring our oldest son at his Navy graduation. He is sacrificing a lot to give to his country. We have been waiting thru the holidays& new year for this day when we could see our son & have our family together!! It was his day!! He has gone without so much. He had intensive training daily with little sleep. He has a ton of respect for our country & others. Yes sir!! Yes Ma'am! Thank you sir!!
His Sailor's Creed

"I am a United States Sailor.
I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and I will obey the orders of those appointed over me.

I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and those who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.

I proudly serve my country's Navy combat team with Honor, Courage and Commitment.
I am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all."

Its very Noble! Its very respectful.
So when his family is away from home celebrating his accomplishment... people decide to have a party at our house while we r away. A person almost dies. In my house while I am away!!
I am walking out of the graduation and my phone rings. The police wanting information about the events that happened and & the person who had to go to the hospital. I had no flipping clue. My whole family is in Chicago attending an event. After 3 police phone calls I get details.
I had drug use in my house!!! Other illegal activities!! Strangers in my house!! Other people we knew as well! SOME ONE COULD HAVE DIED!
SHAME ON YOU!
U cast a shadow on our special day!! do we love our country but can't help but be disappointed of our home town?? Now people are worried we are going to press charges and ruin their life! We wouldn't be ruining their life they chose the path they are on. I didn't choose it for them. Yesterday I didn't want word of this getting back to steven and put a cloud on his special day!! I put it to the back of my mind as much as I could.
This morning I can't help but think on it. My house is a mess. Food was left out to ruin. My dogs were probably traumatized. I'm super upset and very angry.
Shame on you all!!!
Selfish, idiotic, & irresponsible!!!
I have an appointment to give a god dam statement to the police on Monday after we return. Can you imagine having to discuss this and deal with this when we were not even home. We better not have any legal problems and be held responsible for what happened! We were crying our eyes out because we are proud of the man our son chose to be while people there at home were disrespectful to his home and things!!
MADISON totally SUCKS for me at the moment!! We r now headed out to enjoy our freedom in Chicago for the day!! I will again put this in the back of my mind so we can have a day not spoiled with sad thoughts of home.
