What a bittersweet Reunion on June 8th.

My Dad, My son, Shawns Grandfather, and the Core of our Family,  was admitted to the hospital yesterday Dx. Pulmonary Embolism. PIR June 8th

I got a letter today from my SR, and I'm a little confused. This past Sunday via phone, my son asked me to ask his Dad/StepMom if one of them would give up their seat to allow his older brother to go in, who would have been waiting at visitors center. They get 4 guest for PIR, but we had 5 people going. And the debate of which one will wait at visitor center.Todays letter he said he just found out that they will get tickets to give to who he wants at graduation. Does this mean he will have more…See More

Profile Information

About me:
I am a Registered Nurse, Proud to say I started my Career in the US Air Force. Im a Veteran, so I know somewhat what my 20 y/o son is going thru during his Basic in the Navy. Nothing fills you with pride more that to serve Your Country. And there is no better, safer way for your child to learn to become a Man. The military teaches them to be independent, manage their money, discipline, and respect.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am a Veteran of the USAF, was married to a Sailor, my Grandfather was in the USN, during Pearl Harbor, so when my son joined I was so excited for him, because this career fits his personality perfect. He wants to travel overseas. What better way to see the world. My son is a born leader, makes friends easily, swam water polo in High School, so he swims like a fish, so the Navy just made sense for him. My son told me about this website, he is in his 3rd week of basic
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Welcome to N4M’s. This site is full of information, support and encouragement. My son graduated boot camp Jan 29, 2010 and is now stationed overseas.

If your profile or profile name contains last name (even if it is different from your rct/sailor) your rct/sailors first name or your e -mail address, I recommend that you change it for the safety of your sailor. Remember, this is a public site and anyone can read comments posted here.

If have a Sailor in the fleet-search groups for ship, sub, rating, duty station, squadron, etc.

If you are a DEPer: Please join the group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms , (just point and click on the http address) there you will find new N4M’S as well as more seasoned N4M’s to guide you along.

Join this group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/deppersinbutnotyet read some of the discussions for good info

There is a group for each month rcts leave "Leavin for Boot Camp in (month they leave)" search groups and join this group...it will have info as well as connect you with other N4M's whose rcts leave that month.

Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation) date…search groups and join the PIR group..if it hasn’t been formed yet YOU may need to form it.

Go to YouTube and search Navy Racks, boot camp, graduaton, Battlestations 21 (CNN does it)-also Navy folding, bed making, shoe polishing (doing things the NAVY way).

Explore this site as well…Forums, Groups and Videos and check out the “Main” tab…lots of good info.
