"If you don't have a number, I would try leaving a message on your boat's site here and see if someone can forward a msg for you. But, I think, if your son didn't sign the needed forms you won't get info. Plus info about…"
"Well, I know just how you feel. I connected with a super helpful wife on my son's site and she actually told the ombudsman about me. My halfway box (which I didn't know much about) was sent off late and so arrived late. Ugh! Live and…"
"I bugged my son a ton and he finally "remembered" right before he left. I can't remember if your son has left on a long deployment, but hopefully someone told you about the halfway box. But you will need info from the ombudsman. On…"
"Hopefully he gave your name to the ombudsman... she can give you an address for the boat. OR you might be able to connect with another wife/mother on the boat site. The sub sites are not very active though...cuz everything is so secret."
You need to get the info from your son. You can make reservations at the Navy Lodge and your son will need to sign some papers at some point during your stay. Then to get onto base your son will need to either be with you, or drive you in. My…"

Yvonne Wagner here. Does your son have a place to go for Thanksgiving? We have friends in Groton who also open their home and they said they would be happy for any sailors who don't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving to invite them to join them. Let me know and I can get you their information.
Hey Nancy...i am very familiar with the Bay Area. I was born in San mateo, lived in Foster City and graduated from Burlingame High (oohhh...is that to much info to give online??...I would be mad if my kids gave that much info to a stranger online). Very exciting~this Navy journey. I had joined the Army right out of HS...so, i have a "slight" insite...but the military has changed..and the Navy is a whole lot different!!
Welcome to N4M’s. This site is full of information, support and encouragement. My son graduated boot camp Jan 29, 2010 and is now stationed in Sicily Italy as an IT.
If your profile or profile name contains last name (even if it is different from your rct/sailor)your rct/sailors first name or your e -mail address, I recommend that you change it for the safety of your sailor. Remember, this is a public site and anyone can become a member and read comments posted here.
Be wary of who you friend…before you accept a friend go to their page and see how active they are, the comments left, groups they’ve joined. If they have a lot of friends but no groups, no comments, click ignore and DO NOT FRIEND THEM…it is likely they are spammers, e-mail address harvesting
There is a group for each month rcts leave "Leavin for Boot Camp in (month they leave)" search groups and join this group...it will have info as well as connect you with other N4M's whose rcts leave that month.
Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation)date…search groups and join the PIR group..if it hasn’t been formed yet YOU may need to form it.
Go to YouTube and search Navy Racks, boot camp, graduaton, Battlestations 21 (CNN does it)
Explore this site as well…Forums, Groups and Videos and check out the “Main” tab…lots of good info
