- I am the mother of three wonderful kids. I have two girls in High School and my son just completed his first year.
My husband of 11yrs comes from a military family. His father and two bothers are Ret. Air Force.
We are very proud of our son for joining the Navy. He is following in my fathers foot steps. As proud as we are, being away from our son is extremely difficult on me and his sisters.
My husband is a Lt. with our Fire Dept. for the last 25yrs. I am a stay at home mom and teach swim lessons w Infant Swimming Resource.

- Was proud and encouraged it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- As a mother, it has been very difficult not seeing my son for nearly one year. The most important thing that I've learned is "you need to let go" and take comfort in knowing that our loved ones are safe and learning skills that will last a life time.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

My Husband and I will be going to the Meet & Greet, I'm not sure if my daughter's flight will arrive in time for it, but she will be at PIR. I just got the white scarves for her & I yesterday. That reminds me, I don't think I even mentioned the scarf to her yet. I probably should :) She's a few years older than her brother and so proud of him. It's really nice to see that. We are a family of 5, we are planning to arrive at the Training Centerclose to 7am. We will have a rental car and are anticipating lines and checkpoints...hope this helps.
My son is doing GREAT! : ) At first, not used to the new schedule...but is now in the routine making friends with some really "good guys". Not sure if we will make it to the meet and greet, but we'll try. Have you ordered a Proud Navy hoodie, yet?

- From what I know so far PIR is in am. I've heard that we need to be there like 7:30 or 8:00 am. We can't wait to see him. Southwest had some pretty good airfares and they don't charge for luggage.

Be wary of who you friend…before you accept a friend go to their page and see how active they are, the comments left, groups they’ve joined. If they have a lot of friends but no groups, no comments, click ignore and DO NOT FRIEND THEM…it is likely they are spammers, e-mail address harvesting

Join this group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/deppersinbutnotyet read some of the discussions for good info
There is a group for each month rcts leave "Leavin for Boot Camp in (month they leave)" search groups and join this group...it will have info as well as connect you with other N4M's whose rcts leave that month.
Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation)date…search groups and join the PIR group..if it hasn’t been formed yet YOU may need to form it.
Go to YouTube and search Navy Racks, boot camp, graduaton, Battlestations 21 (CNN does it)
Explore this site as well…Forums, Groups and Videos and check out the “Main” tab…lots of good info
