Anna said… all5roc,
I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! We are a friendly caring group of moms and are always willing to listen, share and help each other whenever or wherever we can. Please feel free to join our chats, we love talking about everything from work, family, weather - whatever. Plus the joyful and anxiety filled journey of being a Navy Mom!!! Let us support you when you're missing her, and lend an ear when you need to vent!! I see you have a son and a daughter serving. I have a daughter who enlisted in 08 and is out now, her twin sister who is starting her 8th week of Officer Candidate training, and a son on his 8th year of service and just reenlisted for 6 more. We look forward to learning about you and your sailor!!! What is your daughter's and son's rating? Again, Welcome Aboard!!

Jess' Proud Mom said… When is your SR's PIR?
There are a couple of things that I can suggest for PIR......
1. Don't use your flash on your camera. They will come out dark.
2. Sit on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd row to get the best seat.
3. Get there early!!!! Get the best seat that way. :)
4. Buy one of those seats that you can sit on. Those bleachers are HARD!!!
5. Drive in on OHIO street. You'll go straight into the parking lot and into the Navy museum. A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE SOME FANTASTIC PICTURES!!!
6. Meet your SR in the NAVY FEDERAL Bank next to the NEX. They have coffee, a warm place to sit if it is windy or cold and it has windows that face their ship.
7. Take pictures of any thing that interests you. You will find that they will bring back memories. Because you will forget in all the excitement things that you saw.
8. You do NOT have to print off your gate pass if you are staying at the Navy Lodge or Ramada. I stayed at the Navy Lodge. It was GREAT!! A mile and a half away from the base.
9. Do only what your SR wants to do. The reason is that they are so cooped up and finally get out. Expect you SR to be a little skittish because of BC. They have to get used to figuring out that someone is NOT going to come yell at them all the time. :)
10. Buy a commemorative coin at the concession stand. They are $9 each and they are really cool looking. Great to give as a gift.
That is about all I can think of right now. :)

Cece said… I have not ignored your questions, but just don't know how this friend thing works!
Have any of your family come across the Holder family at Lakepointe or Springer?
My daughter and her family go to Saturday services. My husband and I attend the classic services. (Golden Oldies) :)
I thought about that my son donating his things because he has to pay for it, the only thing he would send back is his cell phone, but I could be wrong. I can't wait to get the form letter either. I know once I get a letter from him I will feel better. You're right its not the same as sending them to College because we still have communication.
Thanks for the friend request.... I live South of Midland TX a very small community.
I read where you received your daughters box, I haven't received anything yet.
How are you doing?
Jess' Proud Mom said… Jess is in the 080 Division. His PIR is 3/2/12. I am so excited to see him next month. What rate is your SRs going to have?
