About me:
I am a mom of two boys (18 and 15). My oldest just graduated bootcamp 11/16/12. He is now in San Antonio for "a" school. I look forward to meeting many of you on here and sharing my exsperinces with the Navy.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Hurry up and wait!! LOL !! The being patient is going to be the death of me yet. But apparently it is a lesson I truly need to learn. Praying for it and working on it!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Wow! Things have moved so quickly it seems as if just yesterday JT left for bootcamp. Now after that roller coaster ride is over, he is at "A" school. He had done his "OC" spray and did ok with it, and now he has called and he got to choose his duty station. My shock and awe is still in effect. He still has the opportunity to stay stateside for a little longer if he gets "MWD" military war dog, but if not he leaves for Guam after "A" school graduation for two years!! Two years mind you!! Moving Forward

It's been almost a month since JT graduated boot camp. Now, he is in "a" school. I still miss him like crazy and it is soooo hard to not call or text him 50 billion times a day. Some days are harder than others. Prayers are keeping me going. I know he is safe in "A" school and not deployed yet, and having a ball!! But I still miss him so much.

He has grown into such an awesome man.... The Navy has really changed him and made into an awesome person. ( not that he wasn't before) he talks… Continue

The day before!!! PIR!!!

Oh my oh my!!!! It's the night before my sons PIR!! I am sooo excited! After nine long weeks I finally get to see my son!! No longer a boy but now a man in the Navy!! It's hard to believe that after all these years of him talking about being in the military he has made it!! His dreams have started coming true!!! The feeling of pride I have cannot be explained.... My first real letter!!!

Ohhhh joy Ohhhh the joy my heart is about to burst!! I got my first real letter from JT today!! He sounded sooo awesome I am just so happy to get something from him that says he is doing so well. He said he gets to carry a flag for his division PIR. And gets to say the bible verse they use as their montra. 1 Corinthians 12:26. Andrew Ship 14 Div 014 PIR Nov 21.  He is loving A school which makes me happy. He likes his dorm mates which is a blessing.  He may change his mind about leave for Christmas.  I will pass that information on to him.  Thanks.  Still trying to learn all the rules about the Navy and the way things work.  Is there a guide book or something that I missed ?  I still feel lost and have questions

Hi there,  Absolutely so happy to find someone who has a loved one in the same division and ship.  I hope they are all doing ok.  My older son went in the Navy 11 years ago and tells me they are fine.  I did get the box last week and got the info packet yesterday.   Lets stay in touch.
