Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in August, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

You should be receiving "the box" any day now--3 to 4 business days after arrival is average. The form letter will be arriving at the end of the week or beginning of next week--10 days after arrival is average, but the Labor Day holiday may move that back a day or two. He should be able to write a "real" letter for the first time on Sunday, 8 Sepember. You will receive a call when his RDC schedules one. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls, Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit, and When Will the Recruits be Paid? and Information for Spouses.

Thank u tons i really appreciate your help!! and ill be sure to check all those out! and i have another question if its not to much to ask can i send him pictures?? in the letters that i write to him.thank u again

You are very welcome.Yes, he can receive pictures.

u seem like ur very informed about all this can u help me out again sorry for all these questions can u tell me if my husband goes to c school for 19 wks can i go wit my son as well?? thanks

He'll know more about when/if you can join him once he is at "A" School. The "A" School has to be at least 20 weeks for a dependent to be moved at Navy expense, but ratings that require "C" School immediately after may be different. What will his rating (job/specialty) be? There are groups for most of the "A" Schools and/or ratings and knowing that can help you to prepare for PIR weekend. There will also be posts within the group that will help to answer about moving to the area.

Is A school and C school combined?? or are they diff times? nd hes going for a corpsman..hes in the reserves right now as well, thank u ur the only one that actually!! response to me really appreciated :D

Yes, "C" School immediately follows "A" School for most HM's.

Since your SR has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

You may also want to join Navy Reserve Moms.

aww really the day after so then i do have a good chance that we might go,nd i will

Only he will know his particular flight details, but yes, most fly out the day after PIR.
