Hi, Nesper! It sounds like our sons have shared the same Navy experiences since they started! Both from Central Florida (We're in Apopka); they both graduated the Naval Training School in Great Lakes at the same time (We were probably at Flannagins at the same time...frozen!); graduated Sub School in Groton, Conn. as FT at the same time (Were you there also? We visited the Nautilus too!). Where is your son now? Mine is stationed in Bangor, Washington on the USS Nevada. He'll be home on leave at the end of this month! I'm excited! (You weren't at Applebee's after the Groton graduation, were you???)

Hello, Ms. Kay! Thank you for the sweet note you left on my page... I kept wondering who that lady was you were talking about ;-D I'm glad to hear that your son is in Groton. That makes him only a LITTLE closer to you (but not much)!

I should have responded sooner, but I'm the mom of a senior in high school, and things are getting crazy around here (proms, announcements, portraits, final projects, ack)! Plus she's just now getting her driver's license, so throw THAT onto the calendar, along with the new kitchen counter tops we're installing (relatives coming, y'know) and painting the guest bathroom!!! (Shoot me now...)

You need to post a newer pic of that sweet grandbaby. I know she must be crawling now (?), or at least getting up on all fours. I hope she lives close enough that you stay current with your "kiss quanitity." With my son in Seattle, I think how frustrating it would be if I had grandchildren that far away... I figure I'd leave my husband and move closer (ha!).

When is your boy due to finish his schooling? Does he know if he wants a boomer or fast attack? The guys all seem to want attacks, because they'll get to see foreign ports. But, a boomer gives one more time at home. Well, gotta run... the produce manager at Kroger is my regular Thursday afternoon "date." :-D Hugs, k.

Nesper, I do have faith that God is going to get me through this, I know he does work miracles, I have seen many myself. My surgery is scheduled for 7:45 am, on December 28th. My parents and my sons and their wives or girlfriends will be there, and I don't know who else. Thank you for praying for the doctors as well. I know God will do what he see fits, regardless if I don't understand. But I am staying positive about this, I will get through this. Love to you, and Thank you again. T

Nesper, Thank you for your prayers, I know how you feel after reading on the page, it took me a few days to accept that I have cancer again, It was really hard for me to tell my family. This will be my third time with cancer, but I'm a fighter and will survive this time too. I will try to keep everyone posted as best as I can after surgery. That will be a week from today I go into the Heart of Florida Hospital in Haines City. Again, Thank you so much for your loving prayers. T

Congratulations to you too Nesper on your recruit's graduation. That definitely was a happy day and so touching. It brought tears to my eyes - actually I was crying like a baby:). Where is your son now? I hope he is doing well. Have a great week!

Well, congratulations to one of our newest sailors! Did you get to Great Lakes for the PIR? That's certainly a memory-for-life. Now you can put his photo on the mantle and let all your friends know what a wonderful young man you have!

I had surgery to remove some troublesome "female" things that have been annoying me for a few years. I feel so much better now! I appreciate all the prayer... it's the best medicine, no? Hugs, k.

Dear Nesper, I bet you are counting the days as well, I know I was, I could not hardly wait to get to Great Lakes. You will be so proud when you see him in his Navy uniform, they look so sharp. I know you will be taking plenty of pictures. The other mom is jsrmom on Central Florida. I started talking to her when her son first went into boot camp, I have been writing to him as well. I sent him some comics in his letters, and they got passed around his whole ship, he wrote me the sweetest letter back, letting me know that he loved getting a piece of home, and he enjoyed the puzzles, and the jokes I printed up and sent him. So his mom told all of the moms in his PIR to start sending comics to their sailors. But I think her son graduates the same as yours. Check out her page, she has a PIR date up there, and see if its the same date. Contact her, and make plans to meet, in Great Lakes. I know she has said she is going to go to the November 14th get together.

Well, I have talked your ear off, lady, I can't wait to hear about your trip when you get home. Remember to pack plenty of warm clothes, it will be freezing there compared to our Florida weather. Talk to you again before you leave. T

Nesper, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I had a crisis to deal with for my son in the Navy, all is well now. Your son graduates BC in two weeks, we have a mother in Central Florida that her son is also graduating in two weeks, and she has been on the boot camp moms page also. Maybe you know each other. I know you must be very proud of your son, I know I am, it is really a big adjustment for them, the military life. It is no easy task, believe me I know personally.

Hello, "Kay" and welcome to Navy Moms and Sub Moms! What a handsome son you have! And is that your daughter and grandbaby?

Thank you for enjoying my page. I spend so much time around here that I put some of my favorite things on it to keep me company! Boot camp is tough, especially if this is your first encounter with it. Just write your Sailor as much as you can, tell him you love him as much as you can, and that you're proud of him as much as you can. He will feel like it's never going to end, but the eight weeks do pass and Navy life gets a little easier.

Drop by any time... all the moms here are ready to listen and lend a shoulder when you need one! Hugs, k.

Nesper, Welcome to the group, I love your pictures, you must be very proud of your son. My son went in 2008. He is an ABF, and at the moment stationed in Virginia. What will be your son's job? How long has he been in boot camp? If I can help you in any way, please let me know. T
