When going on leave?

Posted on May 24, 2010 at 4:46pm 9 Comments

My question is when our sailors put in for leave to come home do they get any kind of military discount or do they have to pay the full price of the plane ticket. Some of of sailors are halfway around the world and it does cost a pretty penny if you know what I mean. Also are they able to catch a military flight on those big cargo planes. Hope someone can answer this question. Thanks again.

A School Graduation

Seeing our son graduating from A school was wonderful. He looked so happy. His father and I are so proud of him. We surprised him with a Navy ring we had made special for him. What a big smile we received from him. We stayed the weekend at Groton had dinner at Mystic and went to Mystic Seaport and Aquarium. It was wonderful being with him. Next stop for him is Pearl Harbor, Hi. First 2 weeks home . I know he will be missed but happy he got the station he wanted to go to. This means a trip to… Continue

Hi Gloria; Congrad on you son's re-enlistment, he joins my nephew Ron Schark in doing so and I see that he is now a second class as is ron now, What a great class that was in Groton it makes you proud of them and how well they have done. I know it be a very long time since I was last on here but have kept an eye on the site. You are such a great help to all the Mom's that ask for help with their new sailors. Just want to say God Bless to you and your Family. Uncle Jack

Hi Goria: It been a very long time since I've been on here. Congrad on your son's re - enlistment and him becoming a second class in his rating. Will he be staying on board his sub or moving to a new port od call? My nephew Ron Schark has also re-enlisted and also has got his second class rating. That was a great class back in Gorton. He say that after this tour out on board the  USS Nevada that he will be back in class again for 9 months and then wants to put in for GA. to be on the east coast so he can see more of his famiy by being closer to N.J.. For myself I've been busy with many different project here in WIs. with soon going to a Ship reunion in San Diego in Oct. will be great seeing the old station again and all the upgrades since I was there. How have you been I do get to read a lot of your post and how much help you are to all the new Mom's that write on here seeking help and guidance with the young men and women off for the first time, I know that it a great help to them. So keep up the wonderful  work you do. God Bless and Keep you and your loved ones now and alway. May the sea alway be calm and the winds at there backs to have fair sailing evermore.  Uncle Jack
