My daughter leaves in 56 days

to bootcamp at GL. Is it normal for a mom to have THIS much anticipatory grief??? I am crying every time I read the boards or my husband and I talk about her leaving. I am staying strong in front of her but did have to excuse myself this weekend when her and Dad started talking about something. My sweet daughter is 21 and doesn't even live at home anymore! I talk her her daily on the phone and she comes over several times a week. Our son gradutes high school 4 days after she leaves and is…See More

My daughter was 1 week away also and got stress fractures in her heels. Total pain in the bottom! Best advice- take one day at a time.. Stay positive.. Not knowing what is going one is horrible but stay connected to this site. My daughter graduated 2.5 months after her original date. She will be okay.

Just checking in, wondering how you are doing?  I have been struggling with some health problems again.  Really would like to talk to my daughter but she is away from any communication lines at this moment.  The worried of all this fighting and stupid things that some of the military people are doing  really takes a toll on me.  I can't turn on a radio, tv, read the paper, or even visit people without hearing about Afghanistan.  With my daughter over there on her 1st deployment, it has me more stress out than ever.  My doctors would like me to have weight reduction surgery, do you know anything about that, if so pass the good, the bad, and the ugly infor, on to me.  Well have a great day!

Hi,

I know just what you are feeling, and it was along time for me becauses the day she was to gradurate from boot camp she didn't pass because she had some stress fractures which would heal but need some time so she went to sick bay.  After they were heal then she went on to A school.  Just before Thanksgiving I was able to go down to Missouri and Pick her up for a few days. I made the most of the visit even though the first couple days we had some problems she was on military life and wanted everyone to adjust to her and her family was on our wave of life.  The day before Thanksgiving she left for her home base in Mississippi.  And now she is on her 1st deployment.  There is not a day go by that I don't think of her.  hope you have a great day!
