My name is Ellen. Are you packing yet? I am so excited but nervous as this is a big week for our SR's. I am so looking forward to the trip and seeing my son. I look forward to seeing you at the Meet and Greets. Ellen
Wow we have some common ground nice. Before I became a Realtor I was a GM for Clay Group Properties (Commercial) properties. I've done several commercial transactions I miss my old job its been 3 yrs. Can't wait to meet you.
Deanna: Which division do you need a BStations date for? I have a few of them that ladies have sent me. Just comment back to me and I'll send it if you still need it.
BunkerQB said… The USS Triton refers to his BARRACKS. In bootcamp they name their barracks after ships. The list of ships you see refer to the real thing - those vessels which are out in the ocean in service. Go back to my discussion - here is the link, click on it, scroll down, you'll find a comment I posted on Feb 9, 2011 with a diagram of the ships at RTC Great Lakes. You'll find the USS Triton on the left.

Sorry, I missed you friend request. Hope your recruit is doing well at BC.
proudtobejarsmom said… I sure will! I live in Texas and I was thinking about driving up there but my Mom and Dad are coming along too and they want to fly. That just means more spending. We are getting a rental car but I will ask around and see what the alternatives are and how convenient they were. I am very excited but feeling overwhelmed because I get stuck making all the arrangements. Oh well! I'd do it all over again if it means seeing my baby graduate.

proudtobejarsmom said… My son told me they can buy their own calling cards. I offered to send him some but he already called me twice and he told me not to worry about it. But if you want to send him one I don't think it'll hurt. Your box and form letter will be there soon. Keep writing him because my son says that is the best thing and it encourages him to do his best when we cheer him on in our letters. Take care!
BunkerQB said… The USS Triton he is referring to is his barrack. In bootcamp, the barracks are named after ships. The list of Navy For Moms groups associated with ships refer to ships that are actually in our FLEET - that means the real ones out in the ocean with sailors, guns, missiles. Welcome to Navy For Moms. It's OK to feel overwhelmed and ask questions even if they seem stupid because everyone is in the same boat!
Read this blog I wrote last year for newbies.

In the New Members Stop Here group, look at the videos, pp presentation and other stuff. There is a diagram of the barrack "ships", you'll also find a sample copy of your form letter. This form letter will give you the official PIR date for your sailor. Make some copies and keep in safe place. This reference material is listed as PAGES right under the member icons.
Good luck.
proudtobejarsmom said… Yes I have received about 7 letters from him. They didn't start coming untl three weeks after he left. Something about a girl got the whole division in trouble because she was writing letters during watch. They lost their mail privilages for a bit. If that hadn't happened I don't know how soon I would have received mail from him.He called last Sunday around 6pm but I heard the calls home are random. Have you received the form letter from him?
